Geometric Tape Mani

Hey Guys!

Sorry I haven't blogged in a while. I've been having a bunch of tests. However, I am hoping you'll forgive me because I have some nail art for you! This is a tape manicure I made for a contest that Sophie from My Awesome Beauty hosted last month. I am absolutely in love with these colors! I just wish I could have taken a better photograph. It just does not do these beauties justice!

I used OPI: Do You Lilac It?
           OPI: Can't Find My Czechbook
           OPI: Suzi's Hungary AGAIN!
and     Butter London: Diamond Geezer

To make this manicure I painted two coats of silver and waited until the next day to apply striping tape and paint each nail one at a time. I used a dotting tool to apply the polish so that I could get into the tight corners. These colors are just so bright and springy! I will be wearing them a lot!

Have a beautiful day!

Sally Hansen Salon Effects - Laced Up

Hey Guys!

Today I have the Sally Hansen Salon Effects in Laced Up. I found these on clearance at Target so I decided to grab the lace. I have yet to find the perfect lace stamp. Though I believe Vivid Lacquer is working on one now!

I have used these nail strips in the past and loved them but I think these lace ones were horrid! I had tip wear within one day even though I had put top coat on. That never happened before. Anyway, I loved the pattern so I saved it by adding black french tips with a striper and a steady hand. However, when I tried to take the strips off, there was a sticky residue and bits of the strip stuck on my fingers! It was impossible to get it all off. It finally went away after a shower and scrubbing my hands really hard.

Overall, I wasn't happy with these. I just hope it was just these ones that were bad because I do like to use the Sally Hansen nail strips when I'm in a time crunch. Especially since they fit my wide nail beds!

Now I will bit you adieu and leave you with this song that has been in my head the past few days!

Cherimoya - Mystery and Blockbuster

Hey Guys!

Today I have for you a matte polish made by Cherimoya. I recently received this in my Nail Art Society December bag. Every month a bag is mailed to you containing a full size polish or polishes as well as tools to create a style that is trending in the nail art world. I think it is great for people who want to try the new trends but don't want to go out and constantly buy the supplies and have them sitting in a drawer leftover.

Anyway, back to the nails! The silver polish on my accent nail is also a matte-n-a that was in the NAS bag and is named Blockbuster. These polishes are matte but I added top coat because it gives them so much more depth. Plus, I'm kind of impatient with drying time. :P

I did not use the sequence that were provided in the bag. Instead, I used studs that can be found here and hexagonal glitters that can be found here.

Also, here is a great tutorial on how to apply the hex glitter.

Happy polishing!

Nfu-Oh #65

Hey guys!

Happy New Year! It is now 2013. Do you have any resolutions? I'm not going to make one this year. I always have a hard time deciding. I just try to learn from my mistakes and better myself. Today I have an old holographic mani with a stud accent. I've really gotten into studs ever since I saw them on Sammie's blog.

I hope you enjoy!  I'm really excited about this blog and I can't wait to hear from you! :)

Deborah Lippmann - Across the Universe

*waves hello*

Hi there! My name is Kristen and I really got into the whole nail polish and nail art thing this past summer. I've been thinking about starting a nail blog for a while now and I finally decided to make the leap! I figured I'd keep it simple with just a swatch. I figured this polish was perfect, I'm studying to become an aerospace engineer.

I present to you Deborah Lippmann's Across the Universe!

I would love to hear any questions or comments you may have!
